Team Connecticut returned from the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and an impressive 16 medals - including eight gold - plus 10 ribbons. Athletes and Unified Sports®

partners represented Connecticut with determination, sportsmanship, and pride while participating in bowling, swimming, track & field, Unified basketball, Unified softball, and the Youth Leadership Experience.

 

ESPN's livestream replays are still available on ESPN+ and Disney+, with a Review Show on Saturday, July 25 at Noon, airing on ABC/VOD and available on ESPN+ and Disney Plus.

Everyone who signs up will be automatically entered into a raffle for a $100 Mohegan Sun Gift Card, with a 1-in-100 chance to win! Additional incentives are also unlocked after reaching the $1,250 fundraising minimum to rappel.

Special Olympics Connecticut athletes had an unforgettable opportunity to meet NBA player, former UConn Husky, and Special Olympics Global Ambassador Andre Drummond during a special meet & greet hosted by Waterbury PAL. From autographs and photos to shooting hoops and a Q&A session, it was a day to remember. 
Did You Know? Special Olympics will celebrate its 58th anniversary on July 20. The first-ever Special Olympics Games were held in at Soldier Field in Chicago with 1,000 athletes from 26 states and Canada competing in track & field, swimming and floor hockey - including three athletes from Connecticut.  The groundbreaking event was pioneered by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, whose vision launched our global movement for inclusion.
