Our yearly Traditional Basketball Tournament, presented by Webster Bank, was a slam dunk as our version of March Madness took over eight venues across Waterbury. 

 

500+ athletes with the support of 100+ coaches competed in team play and individual skills. Big shots were made, high fives were given, and sportsmanship took center stage.

We’re proud to announce that Lisa Kovlakas has been named Chair of the Special Olympics Connecticut Board of Directors, effective April 1.
 
A longtime ESPN leader and nearly 40-year Special Olympics volunteer, Lisa brings unmatched experience in using sport to drive impact.
 
We thank Charlie McLaughlin for his contributions during his tenure as Board Chair and congratulate Vice Chair Catherine Kortlandt and Secretary Tizziana “Tizz” Fusco Weber on their appointments.

Noteworthy News

Even more congratulations are in order as we celebrate Lisa Carlone, Sr. Director of Special Projects, on her upcoming retirement. After 18 impactful years on our staff, her final day will be April 30.

 

With over 40 years as part of the movement - we know this isn't goodbye, it's simply see you soon.
